Comparing Our Responsibilities to Your School’s
When planning a successful school carnival, there can often be a disconnect between what is expected of your school and the responsibilities delegated to Fun Services. To help make this process easier, we’ve compared our responsibilities with those of your school’s so you can better understand who is responsible for what.
Fun Services’ Responsibilities
We provide games, including booths, signs, instructions, and supplies, at no cost. We also supply all prizes on complete consignment, requiring no upfront costs. Additionally, our team will arrive approximately 2 hours before your event start for set up. We provide an event manager who stays on-site throughout your carnival.
Your School’s Responsibilities
Your school’s responsibilities include providing adult volunteers for set-up, tear-down, and event staffing, running games and awarding prizes correctly as stated on the provided instruction sheets, providing tables as needed for games and the redemption center, providing one can or box at each game for ticket collection, providing all electricity as needed for games and activities, and taking all ending counts of leftovers, including prizes and unused supplies.
Some things you will need to do:
Set the length of your carnival; typically, we recommend 2 to 3 hours. Choose your games; the number of games you choose depends on your enrollment. Decide on the ticket price, with options ranging from 5 for $1.00 to 4 for $1.00, and most schools prefer to do a presale. Finally, decide how many tickets per game you would like to charge, with most schools choosing a combination of 1, 2, and 3 tickets.
Add Obstacle Courses and Inflatables
Larger schools may want the option to add an obstacle course to their carnival. As with our moonwalks, there is no rental fee when added to a full-service event, and 40% of the proceeds go to your school. For our largest schools, you can add another inflatable, with 40% of the proceeds going to your school. Smaller schools have the option to rent additional inflatables for their carnivals.
